Day 27-St. Louis

We crammed a lot into our last full day in St. Louis. Tomorrow we head to Kentucky.

After relaxing start of our day with breakfast at our campsite Joni and I separated for a few hours. I dropped her off at the Missouri Botanical Gardens which was featuring  an exhibit of Dale Chihuly works in glass.  

While Joni toured Shaw's Garden, I met for lunch with seven of my classmates from high school at Taco Buddha.

Our 55th class reunion was in early May, but I was in New Orleans at that point, so I was really looking forward to meeting these old friends most of whom I had not seen for five years, and one whom I had not seen for 55 years.

It was great catching up, and our brief get together went by way too fast.

My classmates insisted I post this photo, so here's what I ate:  THE JAMAICASEASONAL TACO:   Grilled Jamaican Jerk chicken, Monterey Jack, fresh pineapple pico, jerk spiced aioli, cabbage, green onion, flour tortilla.

After picking up Joni, we decided to go the the St. Louis Art Museum which is located in Forest Park, the site of the 1904 World's Fair.

I saw a free concert  here with Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin.

We finished our day watching a very exciting Cardinals-Dodgers slugfest at Busch Stadium. The Cards won 16-8, but the score was a close 9-8 after 7 innings.  For Red Sox fans, Mookie Best opened the game with a double, but went hitless after that.  JD Martinez went hitless for the whole game.
